We ask that you arrive at least 10 to 15 minutes prior to your appointment(s) so we can be sure to start our services on time. During this time, sit back and relax with some hot tea or iced cucumber lemon water. If you haven’t completed our electronic ‘client intake form’, you can use this time to fill out paperwork.
In order to provide a peaceful spa experience, we ask that you silence your electronic devices / cell phones and lower your voice to a whisper once you step inside La Vita Bella Day Spa. Please explain to any children accompanying you to use their quiet voices. Children are always fascinated by our fountain; it does have chemicals to keep the water clean so please do not to touch! And no, we do not have “fishies” in the water! .
All spa guests are welcome to use our separate ladies’ and men’s changing rooms at any time. If you have multiple appointments, you may be asked to change into one of our spa robes. Each locker includes a spa robe, slippers and a key to lock up your belongings. Our locker rooms feature amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, disposable hairbrushes, aerosol deodorant and mouthwash. Towels and washcloths available by request.
When changing into a robe, you may undress to your comfort level, however we do recommend removal of any bra, tank or similar to reap the most benefit from your massage. Also remove any jewelry, watches, etc. that may interfere with the service. All of our therapists adhere to a strict code of professionalism ensuring that you will be appropriately covered at all times, particularly during massage and body treatments
For your safety and well-being, we discourage alcohol consumption prior to spa therapies. Some treatments may not be performed on sunburned skin. Please do not shave prior to body treatments. We ask that contact lenses be removed and that all men shave prior to any facial treatment.
La Vita Bella Day Spa is an appointment based spa. Many of our clients have standing weekly or monthly appointments or they pre-book months at a time. For that reason, we suggest you plan on scheduling at least 2 weeks ahead, 3 - 4 weeks for Saturday appointments. However, we get cancellations all the time! Feel free to call us or look online and don't forget to ask about our cancellation wait list!
If you are a first time client or have not been with us in the last year, you will need to have a secured payment available to schedule your services. You may use any major credit / debit card or a gift certificate. Please have card information or gift certificate number ready when calling to schedule. Keep in mind this is only to schedule your appointment and nothing gets charged at scheduling and you can change your form of payment at check out.
Please inform us at time of booking if you are pregnant, have high blood pressure, heart ailments or any condition that may counteract with heat therapies, massage or skin care.
In maintaining a spa atmosphere for the enjoyment of our guests, we do not allow children under the age of 12 to accompany any adult during most of our services unless special permissions have been given when the appointment was scheduled. Appointments may be scheduled with a parent or guardian during off peak times Tuesday thru Thursday.
To ensure your preferred appointment times and to allow our therapists to prepare an individualized experience for you, spa services are guaranteed with a credit card or gift certificate number at time of booking. A 24-hour notice is required for all cancellations so that we may have the opportunity to offer that time slot to another client. If an appointment is cancelled within less than 24 hours, or if there is a no-show the day of the appointment, you will be charged 50% of the full value of the scheduled appointment(s) which will be posted to the credit card under which the appointment was booked. In the event the order is not able to be processed, all future appointments will have a 50% non-refundable deposit taken at time of booking. Please note ~ spa packages, parties & multiple service bookings require a 48 to 72 hour notice for all cancellations/rescheduling.
We invite you to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your first scheduled spa appointment to change and enjoy a beverage, or to just relax and prepare for your treatment. As a courtesy to our next guest, treatments will end on time regardless of whether they began late due to late arrival.
If you are a "first time" client, please complete your client intake form.
Please note that none of our body treatments will be performed during pregnancy. For our prenatal clients to receive a facial, you must be able to comfortably lay flat on your back for the duration of chosen facial. Our prenatal massages are compared to a 'side laying' Swedish massage with the support of firm full sized body pillows. We will not perform any deep tissue, reflexology, aromatherapy or pressure point techniques during any prenatal massage sessions. We will require a signed Pre-Natal Consent Form to be read and signed with each massage. We advise you to seek the consent of your doctor prior to receiving any spa treatments.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit or debit card, La Vita Bella gift certificates and SpaFinder gift certificates, checks or cash. Please keep in mind, SpaFinder gift certificates possess no cash value and may be used for services and products only. SpaFinder type gift certificates cannot be used for any gratuity, cash back or on any specials or discounted services. Any leftover balance will be forfeited or may be entitled to a gift certificate to La Vita Bella Day Spa for future regular priced products or services. All returned checks will incur a $35 insufficient funds fee. All gift certificates, whether printed or handwritten, MUST be physically present for redemption.
The Gift Certificate is a prepaid payment device that when purchased, can be loaded with a fixed dollar or specified service or spa package. Gift certificates may not be refunded, returned or transferred. K.S.A. 50-6,108 states that gift cards / certificates have an expiration of 5 years, however, a merchant shall may charge a fee against the balance of a gift card until after 12 months have passed from the date of purchase. We encourage you to use your La Vita Bella gift certificate soon! While you may leave available funds, as defined herein, on the gift certificate as long as you wish, starting 12 months and one day after the date your gift certificate was purchased, and subject to applicable law, we will deduct a monthly service fee of $2.50 from your available funds. Any donated gift certificates given by La Vita Bella Day Spa possess no cash value and expire in 6 months from date of event. In the event of a price increase, your package or service item is guaranteed for 12 months. After the 12th month, new price will be charged and there may be a small payment left.
La Vita Bella Day Spa Gift Certificates can be purchased for any monetary amount, or a certain service or package. You may use your gift certificate toward any service you want. In the event of a price increase, if your gift certificate specifically names a particular service, we will honor the purchase price for up to six months after the price change. All gift certificates, whether printed or handwritten, MUST be physically present for redemption. If you cannot provide a physical copy of your gift certificate at check out, you will have to pay by some other means and are welcome to use your gift certificate on your next visit.
Any gift certificate starting with a 'JB' issued for choice of massage or facial are NO LONGER VALID.
If your Gift Certificate is lost, stolen or used improperly, contact us immediately at the Customer Service Number. You must provide the Gift Certificate number and other identifying details. We cannot provide a replacement Certificate if you do not have your Gift Certificate number available. If our records show that there are still available funds remaining on the Gift Certificate, we will cancel the Gift Certificate and send you a replacement Certificate. Subject to applicable law, when replacing a lost or stolen Gift Certificate, we will deduct a $4.95 replacement Certificate fee from your Available Funds.
We want your experience at La Vita Bella to be relaxing and enjoyable. Our clients often ask us what is customary when adding gratuities. Gratuity is always left to the discretion of our guests, but on the average, we see anywhere from 15% to 20% in added gratuities. While we prefer cash, our front desk receptionist will be happy to process your gratuities on your credit or debit card. If you choose to use cash, we also have tip envelopes located at the front desk if you’d like to leave your tip in cash.
You may also leave any gratuities in your room after your service. If this is your choosing, please leave it in an obvious spot…we end up washing a lot of money! Unless noted, gift certificates for our services and spa packages do not include gratuities, however, we can always process your credit or debit card if you choose.
La Vita Bella Day Spa does not double discount any services or products. We will honor any coupon, discount or promotion toward any regular priced service or product as long as the offer is not expired or distorted. Any 'pre-book' offers given apply to the original set of appointments at time of initial booking with the exception of specials or packages. Any services added after initial booking will be a regular price.
The following is a short description of what you may want to know regarding your appointments. This is a generalized description and answers to common questions of our services. Please visit the 'FORMS' page and fill out the required forms for services desired.
~ Most of our facials come with steaming, cleansing, exfoliation, extractions and a masque suitable for your skin type. You do not need to remove your make up prior to your appointment and while it is acceptable to wear make-up after your appointment, we suggest to wait for as long as possible. It is completely safe and acceptable to add on any facial waxing to our regular facials.
~ To know what type of peel is best for your needs, it is always wise to talk with our trained estheticians to determine the best peel. Every person reacts differently to peels and if this is your first chemical peel, we invite you to come in about a week prior to your appointment to do a ‘test patch’ and talk with the esthetician before your appointment. After your peel, you should avoid any activity that would cause your body temperature to rise. Stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen whenever you do go outside. Always pat dry your skin and stay moisturized!
Thank you for choosing us for your waxing service. Please follow the guidelines below to ensure your skin is cared for properly over the next few days.
Please note: some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over the next 24-48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Always allow five days for the menstrual cycle. Because of water retention and for your own personal comfort, you should avoid hair removal two days before your cycle is due and two days after it is completed.
Keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat and friction during the next 24-48 hours. This means:
- No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only).
- No saunas, hot tubs or steam treatments.
- No tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tans).
- No sport, gym work or other exercise.
- Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands.
- Wear clean, loose-fitting clothes.
- Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools.
- Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or other products to the area, other than those recommended by your therapist.
- To soothe and protect the skin, apply an antiseptic cream to the waxed area regularly for 3 days following your treatment. Always wash your hands before applying any product.
To prevent ingrown hairs: starting a few days after your appointment, gently scrub the skin 3 times a week in the bath or shower using a loofah or exfoliating mitt. Also moisturize the area every day, which will keep the skin supple and help new hairs to grow through normally.
You may notice a small amount of regrowth after a week or so. It can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results. Hair needs to be at least ½ cm (grain of rice) long before it can be successfully removed by waxing; please do not shave between your appointments. To maintain your smooth appearance, we recommend regular waxing every 4-6 weeks.
To get the most out of your massage, avoid drinking any alcohol or eating a big meal right before your massage and enjoy a light snack right before. Come well hydrated to allow your muscles to accept the manipulations of the massage therapist’s hands. Feel free to undress to your comfort level. Any bra or tank tops and jewelry should be removed so to not interfere with the massage. Don’t be afraid to be honest about the pressure when asked…we want you to be comfortable and relaxed! During your massage, focus on long and deep breathing. Some people choose to not say a word during their massage, others like to talk the whole hour. Either is fine, however, if you are one to talk, please make sure you use soft and whispered voices as to not to disturb the client in the room next door. After your massage, make sure to drink plenty of water. You may experience some soreness. This will subside with some light stretching and a Himalayan salt rock soak!
Just as with massage, you will want to eat several hours prior to your appointment and have a light snack right beforehand. Anyone who is pregnant or has blood pressure concerns are exempt from receiving our body treatments. Our body treatments involve you getting wrapped up snug, so make sure you visit the restroom before getting started. After your service, make sure to stay hydrated and moisturized!
